The One-Two Punch

College basketball season is still a long way off, but the emotional buzz surrounding UK's basketball program would make one think it is only a few weeks away. People are literally wishing the summer away, the anticipation is almost nail biting. With less than two months to go, it's almost as if college football is being overlooked.

As if the Legion and Patterson recruiting success wasn't big enough, comes word of the duo's performances in the summer games. Kentucky's coaching staff has been very busy with summer camps, including the highly publicized elite camp, and of course the father/son camp. The team has also been indulging in numerous pick-up games, considering that's about all they're allowed to do. Many have heard, but few have seen. Patrick Patterson is being labeled as a pure dominant force during summer ball, an unstoppable man-child who is easily living up to his hype. Alex Legion's finesse and athleticism has put him at the top of the water cooler talk. It almost sounds like scoring comes too easy for Legion at the camps and pick-up games, his ability to put points on the board is apparently very impressive.

A.J. Stewart and Ramon Harris are being labeled as the "surprises" of next year. Ramon "Razor" Harris has been impressing people for some time now, his athleticism and raw quickness has caused a few more double takes from observers. A.J. Stewart has always been known as an athletic kid, but as a Tubby Smith recruit people haven't been giving him a lot of credit. Mike Williams, the other Tubby recruit, is also a name that some have put in the impressive category.
